Bits and Pieces

-The Thursday Game will start at 10am tomorrow, weather permitting.  The game will be a two person handicapped scramble - bring your own partner or just show up and partner up just before ten.

-Just saying:  If last night's Denson game had been handicapped, Dave Wininger's and Don Nolan's 33 would have netted out at 27.33, a stroke better than George Templin's and my net score of 28.33.

-Just saying 2:  George and I are quite happy with the decision to go with straight up scoring...

-Volleyball pairings (games to be played Oct. 18th, 20th, and 22nd):

63. Loogootee (6)
Match 1 –  Vincennes Rivet vs. Shoals.
Match 2 –  Barr-Reeve vs. Washington Catholic.
Match 3 – Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2.
Match 4 –  North Daviess vs. Loogootee.
Championship – Winner of Match 3 vs. Winner of Match 4.

Prediction: Rivet and BR advance to Match 3 and the Lions beat the Cougars to set up a Saturday night contest between the Vikings and the Lions.  Their first game this season was a honey; expect the second one to be even better.

-The North Daviess football team also got a favorable draw (brackets here - sectional 40 at the very bottom of the page) and should end up in the championship facing Linton again.  Payback time.

-Good golf weather today.  Rain tonight, maybe.
