Bits and Pieces

Photo: Barr Reeve senior volleyball standout Tya Harmon during warmups last Thursday evening.  She is the granddaughter of Lakeview golfer Patty Bowling and neighbor Sam and Freida Harmon.  The Vikings play Shoals at 11 this morning while the Loogootee Lions take on the North Daviess Cougars in the second game.

-Scramble at 10 this morning.

-Cougar football team wins, 27-20.

-Yani Tseng jumps into the lead in Taiwan at the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship with a five under round of 67.  Shoots the only round in the 60's, leads Anna Nordqvist by two strokes and Azahara Munoz by three.

-How about a start of birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie, hole-in-one.  It was done yesterday over in Korea by native Ki-sang Lee as he vaulted into the lead in the CJ Invitational.  Anthony Kim started the day in the lead but now trails by a stoke.  Expect we've had several four under through five starts at Lakeview; six under?  Never would be my guess although it's quite possible with eagles at two and four and then a few more birds from the other three holes.

-Golfing weather yesterday.  Each of my league playing partners was out there - Tom Walker, Larry Wininger, Jack Lents.  Played a few holes myself late in the day but stopped when my back let me know that we just had a three day layoff.

-Gotta get ready.  See some of you in a bit.  Good luck to the volleyball players.
