Arvin and Callahan Take Early Lead in Lakeview's September Challenge

Mike Arvin and Noah Callahan shot a 31 gross and a 26.67 net to take the early lead in Lakeview's September Challenge.  Thirty teams completed the scramble, the first of three games in the inter league Challenge, with the Arvin/Callahan team, from the Tuesday Men's League, up by a stroke on Paul Hart and Kent Summers.  Jack Lents and Mike Bird, low team from the Thursday Match Play League, are in third place with a net score of 28; they tied Arvin and Callahan for the low gross of the week, a 31.  In fourth place is the team of Tom McAtee and John Drake with a score of 28.33.  Tied for fifth are Kevin Byron and dad Junior Byron, and Jack Nickless and Wayne Souerdike, with scores of 28.67.  Dennis Brosmer and Tom Trambaugh fired a net 29 for seventh place in the standings.  Clint Knepp and Rob Graber, low team from the Community League, are tied for eighth place with Colin Padgett and dad Terry Padgett, each coming in with scores of 29.33.    The competitors head into the second week of the Challenge, an alternate shot game, before finishing up in week three with a best ball game.
