Bits and Pieces

Reminders:
-Mike Anderson's East-West Challenge starts at Country Oaks tomorrow at 9am and concludes at Lakeview the 21st.  As of right now, we have 14 players signed up to play for the East squad.  Call the clubhouse and let me know if you want to be included.

-Lakeview's September Challenge starts today.  Get a partner and join in on the fun.

-Awfully quiet out at the golf course Sunday afternoon.  Hannah figured the usual crowd was watching the Colts game against Houston.  Should have come out and played golf - would have had a much better time as the Colts started their season by taking care of any thoughts on a second run at a perfect season by being beat by an inspired Texan team.  What a downer.

-Michelle Wie did okay down in Arkansas with a two under round of 69 but that was one shot shy of matching Yani Tseng's ending total for the three day tournament of 200.  Yani, contender for #1 in the world with three wins this year including two majors, shot six under in her Sunday round to best the Wie Lass in head to head competition.  Bet it was fun to watch - too bad the networks aren't televising more of the Ladies' events.

-Dustin Johnson got it right on a Sunday afternoon and won the Cog Hill event by a stroke over Paul Casey.  That's cool.  In other news on the Big Boy Tour, Tiger and Phil played a round together earlier in the day and seemed to have a pretty good time though neither were in contention.  Phil moves on to play in two weeks while Tiger heads home.  Been a strange year on the PGA Tour - kinda upside down and backwards.  Matt Kuchar as POY?  Wonder what the line on that happening was way back in January.

Suggestion for the day: Get outside and enjoy this super weather!  What a difference from the oven we had this summer.
