Bits and Pieces

-Notre Dame who?  Jeesh.

-Colts look good though I watched the rest of the fireworks down in Atlanta - Jim Furyk and his 'how-to-make-it-a-very-exciting' finish for the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup.  That's the way it should be, right?  The guy winning on Sunday taking home both of the trophies.

-John Drake and Tom McAtee came out and finished up their September Challenge with a Best Ball game yesterday afternoon.  I went out with them to witness.  Guess who had his best game of the year?  JD shot a 38 which included a chip in for birdie at #3 which gave the team a net score of zero on the hole. John took care of seven of the holes with Tom cleaning up the rest as the two of them shot a more than brilliant net 23.  Got to get a calculator and a computer to try and figure out a way for Jack Lents and I, or any of the other 28 teams in the Challenge, to match that and then do one or more better.  Btw, did I say super round, John?  Was, indeed.

-Up earlier than usual today - got to start the golf course as Eric takes #1 son to the doctor this morning.  Lucas got his bells rung last night in a JV football game up in Odon - coming around on a sweep when he met two of the opposing players in a head-to-head, two-helmets-to-one-helmet collision.  He knocked them back on their butts but then crumpled to the ground.  Disappeared into la-la land for a while.  Scary moments for dad Eric standing right there and then swelling in Lucas' arm, etc.  Not nice.

-So I see that NBC is going to tape delay Saturday's Ryder Cup action (espn has coverage on Friday - live; and NBC will do live on Sunday).  You going to not check the scoring on your computer?  And if you do check, are you going to watch the tape delayed stuff on NBC?

-Heading out to the gc.  Gonna be another absolutely lovely day for golf.  Better put your sticks in the car and drop by after work.
