Joe Gray and Tom Walker teamed up on Thursday morning to shoot a team net low of 56 with Joe firing a net 27 on the day. Those scores were good for the lows of the day in team and individual net. Junior Byron fired a second consecutive 35 to claim the low gross honors. Lee Wininger and Phil Roberts took the close to the pin prizes at holes seven and nine while Terry LaMar rolled in the long putt at hole eight. At the end of play for event 5, Patty Bowling and Pam Byron, though losing their match to Susan and Frank Fee by a score of 6.5 to 7.5, remained at the top of the team standings. Nipping at their heels only a half point back are the teams of Rex Hudson and Jack Butcher along with Vic Wallace and Phil Roberts. Patty also remains at the top of the individual standings with 238 points; Jack Butcher is second at 207 points and Vic Wallace climbed into third place with 184 points.

Jack Butcher and Rex Hudson, at minus 5, are second, while Tony Wease and Phil Hardwick, leaders after 18 holes, are third at minus 3. The tournament concludes next week with a final nine holes of play.
