James Hager and Larry Hembree made a birdie at the fourth extra hole to win the Saturday Morning Scramble at Lakeview. The duo fired a four under round in regulation to tie three other teams and send the match into extra holes. Stanley Graber and Spenser Souerdike missed their birdie putt on that fourth extra hole while the teams of Kevin Johnson and Joe Allen and Mike Bird and Jordan Divine, bowed out of the competition at the second hole when their birdie putts failed to fall. Two other teams participated in the scramble: Mike Seals, Paul Hart and Kevin Byron finished at -3 while Wayne Souerdike and George Templin struggled to a +1 over their nine holes.
Of note: The winning team of Hager and Hembree found six birdies in their round but bogeyed two of their last three holes to slip into the tie with the other three teams. The Graber/Souerdike team and the Johnson/Allen team birdied their last hole to make the playoff while the Bird/Divine team took a double bogey on their very first hole and then found birds at six of the remaining eight holes to also make the playoff. Johnson and Allen were the only ones to play a bogey free round.
