Below are the teams that played in Saturday night's Glow Ball Open and the scores for the daylight nine holes. The Mike Seals-Karry Stoll-Scott Wallace-Cam Ackerman team shot eight under in the first nine and four under in the second nine (tied by the Dave Wininger-Mike Arvin-Dave Strange-Rob Sterling team who lost on the tiebreaker) to win first place in each event. The Terry Butcher-Mike Bird-Colin Padgett-Joe Tucker team came in second in daylight with seven under. No skins were taken in the event (?!).
Thanks to Short Jeffers for all the work he put in to make the event a success (including his blunt and forceful and graphic instructions to the group before heading out for the nine in the dark) and to Mitch Jeffers for doing the grilling between the two nine holes - with capable help from Mom Shirley. Fifty-three players tried the the day-night doubleheader and, I expect, the majority of them were getting their first taste of glow ball golf (that includes me - did like the arcing of the glow balls in the night sky). Thanks to all the golfers for being responsible throughout the night with no reported injury to the golfers - that's amazing as we really didn't know what we were doing out there, didn't know where the balls were going to go and couldn't see anybody out there to avoid. It was easier to see the glow balls though - guess that made it easier to step aside though don't recall ever having to. All in all, a good time was had by all.
