Good weather, good course conditions, good company. Should be a great day for golf.
Current leaders:
-Mike Arvin and Scott Arthur have slipped quietly into first place in team competition and lead the George Templin/Don Nolan team by seven points with 197 points.
-Kevin Johnson, at 392 points, leads Jack Divine by five and Noah Callahan by thirty in individual competition.
The Team Handicapped Tournament heads to it's final nine holes with a tie at the top: Terry Butcher and Rob Sterling are sharing that position with Short Jeffers and Jack Divine with scores of minus nine. Five other teams are within five strokes. Expecting a pretty low score somewhere along the line today to seal the deal.
Of note:
-Does Kevin Johnson make it three in a row with another 33 today? How about a 32?
-Do James Hager and Mark Potts join in the fun? Short? T-Butch? Phil? Doug?
-How about all the guys trying to crack 40 and stay there? Like Noah Callahan who slipped a little last week with a 41. Danny Jones, Greg Potts and Tracy Rayhill come to mind as do Junior Byron, Wayne Souerdike, Joe Allen and Colin Padgett.
Better go get myself ready - date at 10 with my playing partners, Terry and Gary LaMar and Virgil Harper. Think I'll go out and shoot one of those 33's. Just hope I don't have too many holes to play after I get there.
