-Thursday Match Play League substitutes. Denny Wagoner is going to be one of the four; expect Dave Strange to be a second (although haven't heard from him. Still have the other two 'open' spots to be filled. Let me know if you want to play - tomorrow at 9am.
-Community League: Note this change: The women play hole #1 starting at the 185 yard line (we'll get markers down there) which makes it a par four.
-The Kevin Johnson-Matt Burch-James Hager-Ryan Johnson had a pretty good round yesterday. Kevin got low gross honors with a 33 and was followed closely by James with a 34. Ryan had himself a best yet this year with a 36 which included a birdie on #8 (the posted photo of him earlier today was taken just after he rolled in the birdie putt).
-Jack Divine had a pretty good net round (29 and a tie with Ryan for low net honors), one that propelled him and his partner Short Jeffers into a tie at -9 with Terry Butcher and Rob Sterling in the Team Handicapped Tournament after 27 holes.
-Yesterday's average gross score was a whopping 2.5 strokes better than a year ago. Strike it up to better playing conditions with the early spring and summer that we're having, conditions that are allowing each of us to fire lower scores.
-Jordan Divine has himself a pretty good streak going: five hole prizes for the season in five events, one in each of them. He waited till the last minute yesterday, getting the closest to the pin on #9.
-The hole prize on #3 was a bit confusing - playing early in the day, I witnessed Cam Ackerman drop one within four feet of the pin. Later in the day, after play was over, the marker was at fifteen feet with Terry Butcher being the second and last name on the marker. I gave the prize to Cam figuring somebody had moved the marker earlier and forgot to put it back where it belonged. Could be that Terry got within Cam's mark and then someone moved it out later on. Let me know if I got that one wrong, guys.
-No eagles again. Maybe a Thursday Match Play guy or gal will get one.
-Tip for the day: Practice does not make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect. Well, maybe not all the time...
