Scramble was held Saturday morning with the following results: Low Net at 64: Tyler Walton, Mike Bird, Noah Callahan, Diane Bird. Second place low net at 66: Dave Wininger, Scott Arthur, David Arvin (aka 5 wood), Dan Steiner. Low Gross at 58: Mike Kidwell, Trenton Kidwell, Josh Butcher, Devin Horrell. Second place low gross at 59: Doug Denson, Terry Butcher, Mark Jones, Dennis Brosmer.
Diane Bird birdies hole #2 and goes on to fire a superlative round of 45 to take low gross for Women and low net for the event with a round seven under par. Mike Arvin fires a 40 which includes pars on each of the par threes and gets low net round for the Men. Low net for the Seniors goes to Susie Chanley with a three under par. Low net score for team play at 67 was a tie between Ben Hogan and Chris Hogan, and Cam Sheetz and Missy Kneip. Other low gross scores go to Tyler Walton with a 37 (Men), and Mike Bird for the Seniors also with a 37. Patty Bowling, beset by a couple of storms during play on Friday, manages to find a birdie on hole #3 and a round of 53 between the drops and the lightning and the thunder. Other birdie finders besides Diane and Patty include Bob Walton, Tyler Walton, Joe Potts, Mike Bird and Tom Taylor. Average gross for the group this week was 48.45, down a full stroke from the previous week. Leaders in the standings after three events are Cam Sheetz and Missy Kneip in team competition with a point total of 85. They are followed by Bob and Tyler Walton with a total of 76. In individual competition, Missy Kneip leads with 166 points with Jim Hart right behind her at 163 points.
Wilma Bateman, Diane Bird and Charlie Sheetz found conditions to their liking as they had super rounds at net seven under for Event #9. In Team scoring, Virgil Harper and Don Lannan combined for a nifty low net of 60 while Bob Norris and super sub Leroy Streepy followed with a 61. Low gross for the day was turned in by Junior Byron who shot a 37; Mike Bird was second with a 40. Sharpshooters for the day were Leroy Streepy, Jim Bateman, Wilma Bateman and Ray Shaw. In Team standings, Richard Swayze and Mike Bird continue to hold onto first place with 80 points; Mike Anderson and Albert Kavanaugh climbed into second place with 69 points. Virgil Harper jumped into first place in the Individual standings with 302 points; Al Kavanaugh follows closely with 299 points and Richard Swayze is in third place at 298 points. Birdies for the day were claimed by Richard Swayze, Ray Shaw, Junior Byron, Jack Butcher, John Chapman, Leroy Streepy and Richard Barber. Junior Byron, Al Kavanaugh and Mike Bird each had five pars. Average gross score for the group was 47.94, best yet for the year. Dry and sunny conditions contributed to the better play.
Tom McAtee's birthday, pars #1 but then pays for it with double bogeys on the next two holes. Not a very nice way to treat a birthday boy. Eddie Green birdies #7, shoots a 44 gross with a net 35; brother Richie shoots a 56 and a net 36. Tracy Rayhill and Mark Potts had a net 64 as a team, Tracy coming in with a 39 and Mark a 31, Mark's a new low gross for him in a golfing career that has been a series of highlights. Jared Butcher subs for Joe Doyle, plays with his Dad and fires a 40, twelve strokes better than his last outing. Scott Arthur finds a birdie three on hole #5, then pays for it with a triple bogey on #6. Bill Carrico shoots a sterling 42 gross, net 29. George Templin finishes with a birdie on #9 which gave him a net 34 for the day. Dave Strange didn't roll in a couple of putts as he did a week ago, but he still had a very good round, coming in with a gross 42 and a net 33. Larry Sutton finally finds some improvement in his game, shoots a 40 and a net 31. Mark Sherer found birdies on two and three on his way to a 37; and partner Josh Huff fired a nifty 41 giving the team a super net score of 61. Todd Baker found a birdie on #3 and finished with a sterling round of 38. Most birdies for the day: Mark Potts with four. Most pars at six: TJ McAtee, Alan Burch, Dave Wininger, Steven Downey and Trenton Kidwell. Average gross score was 43.20, down from 43.55 of the previous week. Hole prizes were taken by TJ McAtee, Eddie Green, Ryan Johnson and Dave Wininger. Low gross for the day: Mark Potts' 31; low net: tie at 29 by Bill Carrico and Josh Huff. Low net team: Mark Sherer and Josh Huff at 61. Leaders at the end of the day: Larry Sutton and Brent Courter with 372 points in Team competition; Terry Padgett and Gary Burris are in hot pursuit with a point total of 368. Noah Callahan heads up the Individual competition with a point total of 673 with James Hager in second place with 654 points.
