A little history: Five years ago today, the top five in Individual competition were Junior Byron, Wayne souerdike, Greg Potts, Tyler Walton and John Drake. In Team play, Junior Byron and John Drake were on top with Short Jeffers and Don Mills in secon place. (Btw, where is Don Mills?) Short shot a 33, Shannon Bratton a 35, Greg Potts and John Walker, 36's. At the other end, Mark Jones shot a 51 (he doesn't do 50's anymore...) and Cam Carrico a 59. Somewhere in the middle were a couple of Joes, Allen and Doyle, with 47's. The day was sunny and hot with a high of 91. No bugs.
And today: Bugs are still around and a minor problem; temperatures are lovely; course is in great shape. Should be a super day for golf. How about a bunch of birdies, several eagles, and even an ace or two to make it an historic day. Okay, will settle for four or five sub par rounds and nobody over 50. That's well within the realm of possibility and not too far from the kingdom of probable. Right? Come show me how good you are.
