Bits and Pieces

-Scramble at 9 - in a little bit from now.

-TW still on top at the Open, sharing the lead with Jim Furyk and David Toms.  Expected both Tiger and Toms to get to two or three under watching them come in last night.  Two 'easy' par fives and then a bird-able last hole.  Not to be.  They each parred their way in with Tiger having to scramble on a couple of them to even do that.  Good stuff.

-Question:  Is the winner somewhere in the top 17?  That would make him no worse than +3 going into today's play.  Would expect at least one of the three leaders, and probably two and maybe even all three of them, to play pretty steady on the weekend.  That means for someone from the rest of the field to win they would have to have a pretty low number today or tomorrow.  Best score on Friday: Steve Stricker's -2.  Toms and Els had the other two red numbers at -1 on the day.

-Course conditions at Lakeview:  Very green on the tees and the greens, browning and fast in the fairways.  Would expect some low numbers in today's scramble with everybody getting a shot at hitting it long and then using a short club the rest of the way.  We'll see.

-Kevin Johnson is getting married today.  Don't expect we'll see him this morning though we have had golf outings prior to a wedding out there.  Good luck to Kevin and his bride.

-Heading to the gc - see some of you in a bit.
