-A little history: A year ago today, Pam Byron and Patty Bowling were at the top of the team standings with Patty repeating as the leader in the individual competition. Junior Byron had the low gross with a 37 and Mike McLaughlin and Virgil Harper coming in with the low net of 30.
-Today, we play the third round of the Individual Handicapped Tournament with Pam Byron enjoying a three stroke lead over Tony Wease and a four stroke lead over Jack Nickless (don't expect him today but he may surprise us and come on out). Dick Lemmon and Mike Bird are five strokes back.
-Team leaders Ken Hudson and Junior Byron are matched up with the girls today, Anna Mosby and Pam Byron. The second place team, Jack Butcher and Rex Hudson, go out against Dane Mosby and Ed Summers.
-Still looking for two subs for the open slots, one to go out with Dave Strange (up against Jack and me), the other to go out with Wayne Pearl who is matched with Virgil and Terry.
-Course conditions: Very dry; ball is running in the fairways. Weather today: lovely with a high of 87 but 65 at 9 and 76 at 11.
-Tip for the day: Get the ball started down the fairways with the late August like conditions (dry and hard) and be careful you don't over club (usually not a problem for many of us). Take advantage of the extra length off the tee with your superior short game - chipping and putting.
See some of you a little later.
