Congrats to the winning team of Dave Wininger, Doug Denson, Joe Allen and Scott Arthur at -13 and to their challengers, the Jeffers, Callahan and Schutte teams that finished at -11.
Some of the early highlights that I heard about as the teams made the turn:
-Denny Wagoner rolled in a 42' putt from just off the green at his teams first putt on their first hole for a birdie. Pretty neat way to start the day.
-Ken Frye did something similar at #8 when he chipped in for a birdie for his team. Again, first chip, first hole.
-Travis Brett stuck one close with his first swing at hole #3 and it, too, resulted in a birdie.
-The Mitch Jeffers team rolled to a nifty five under after five holes to start their scramble.
-Colin Padgett ended up with his name at the bottom of the list on two of the four hole prizes, a close to the pin shot at #7 and a long putt at #8.
Am sure there were many more highlights out there during the course of the scramble. Expect there were several eagles along with a ton of birdies. No hole-in-ones.
Big thanks to Susie Chanley for doing way more than her part in keeping the grounds in good shape during the scramble. And big thanks to Mike Arvin and his host of volunteers who did a pretty good joy with this year's Summerfest Scramble at Lakeview.
