-Gross rounds of the week: Five at par 35 or better with Kevin Johnson's 33 leading the pack. Mark Potts, Short Jeffers and Terry Butcher each had 34's, all on Tuesday, while Terry LaMar turned in a 35 on Thursday.
-Net Rounds of the week: Tie at 28 with Gary LaMar, Karry Stoll and Mark Sutton from the Tuesday League and Terry LaMar from the Thursday league.
-Low Team score: Virgil Harper and Gary LaMar on Tuesday with a super 59. Virgil also was involved in another low team score for the week: he and Gary's brother Terry combined to shoot a 61 during Thursday play. Impressive.
-Tournament leaders: Same as the net rounds of the week for Tuesday and Thursday: LaMar (Gary), Stoll and Sutton at -7 in the Tuesday League; LaMar (Terry) at -7 in the Thursday League; and Eric Bird's -4 leads the Community League tournament. This week the second of four rounds of the tournament.
-Rule Notes: Two items that came up at one time or another last week:
First, the cart path rule where players have the option of moving their ball so that they do not have to stand on the cart path. This should be done so that there is no improvement in lie - on a slope, keep it on a slope even if that means moving it further up the dam or the median; on a flat spot, keep it on a flat spot - which means it's okay to move it across the cart path if necessary.
Second item - the ball going into the lake off of #8 tee box. You have the option of re-teeing at the tee box or taking a drop on the top of the dam adjacent to where the ball entered the lake with a one stroke penalty in each case.
-Of note: Added a ninth team to the Community League with the addition of Stan Hodges and Mike Arvin. Thanks to all the subs who helped out during the week. Jack Nickless, subbing for Jack Butcher, did himself proud shooting a gross 39 and a net 29 and winning a hole prize to boot. Good to see Wayne Pearl back in competition and to have Jordan Divine tee it up on Thursday morning. Bad-day-at-the-office prize goes to a trio of golfers who had a tough week: Tim Sanders, Mike Arvin and Anna Mosby each had net rounds of 42 during their play this week. Count on them doing better this week.
