It's hot and dry and perfect for posting a low score. The leader of the pack (Mike Arvin) played early and posted a high score - that gives all the wannabees out there the chance to move up.
Last day of the Individual Handicapped Tournament. If it's anything like the US Open (of course it is!), the winner is no further back than four strokes. That would make it a battle between Mark Sutton, Terry LaMar, Karry Stoll, Nick Toy, Virgil Harper and Larry Sutton. I think we could extend that at least one more stroke - thus adding another seven players to the mix (Mike Albertson, both Jeffers, Junior Byron, Mark Jones, Doug Denson and Ryan Johnson). I see several in there who could win by two or three strokes after coming back from two or three strokes. (Too bad we don't have them going out together so that they could get in each others' head. I'll be rooting for my playing partner, Terry LaMar. Well, Terry and a bunch of the other guys as well.)
Course conditions: Dry and hot with greens well watered and beautiful. Your ball will carry with the hard fairways though suggest you not try and power it even further - just use your normal everyday swing and maybe dial down a club or two on some of the holes, like #1.
Tip of the Day: Play like you know what you are doing.
