-Showtime in Odon tonight in boys basketball. The Barr Reeve Vikings take on county rivals North Daviess in the first game with that followed by Vincennes battling the Loogootee Lions. My predictions: Cougars over the Vikes in a bitterly contested contest for starters; Lions over the Patriots in a much easier contest to wrap things up.
-The Vincennes Lady Patriots, and probably more than half the school, head up to Fort Wayne later today, to take on the Turkey Run Lady Warriors tomorrow morning, a battle between the #1 and the #2 teams in 1A. Got my fingers crossed for the Patriots who have been trying to close the deal for the past two years. Third time's the charm. Btw, Jeff Thompson is a first year coach of the Lady Warriors. Impressive start for him. The team's two losses were to 3A Benton Central in mid January and to, guess who, Vincennes Rivet, in a holiday tournament in December. Score: 46-38.
