Bits and Pieces

-Three of the four girls state championships on Saturday were won by teams here in the southern part of Indiana.  Rivet won the 1A title; Evansville Memorial the 2A; and Jeffersonville the 4A.  Only the 2A title escaped the sweep by the southern belles.

-Saturday's 1A boys basketball regional match ups here in Loogootee (Sagarin ratings in parens):

Game one
Wood Memorial (255) vs Trinity Lutheran (183)

Game two
North Daviess (119) vs Rock Creek Academy (184)

Going by the ratings, should see North Daviess playing Rock Creek Academy in the final next Saturday evening.  The entire 1A bracket here.  Expect the first game to start at 10:30.  Go Cougars.

-Golf weather today.  Maybe a little on the cool side but, after several days of rain and yuk, am sure it will feel good to get out and swing a club again.  We were teased with that really nice week of weather in February and the first few days of March but these last three days have been not so nice.  Things will change; that we can be sure of.
