Bits and Pieces

-At Doral:  TW at -1 thorugh 15 holes and could have been lower with a more true putter. Or so the CW is.  Did watch the highlights and Tiger's putts were right there in pace.  Dave Stockton would say "Great pace, Tiger!"  Expect more of them will drop for him today.  But the story isn't Woods' putting but rather Hunter Mahan's birdie binge.  He got seven of them in an eleven hole round (darkness stopped his round) and leads the pack at -7. Mickelson bested both TW and Graeme McDowell in the marquee match-up of the day.  Lefty at -2 through 15 holes, the G-Man at -1 along with Tiger.

-Like this story from Wei Under Par where Zach Johnson, Rory Sabbitini and Geoff Ogilvy sped up their round by having the closest guy to the hole at the 8th (their 17th hole) go ahead and finish out, run to the 9th tee and hit.  It worked as the trio did finish and got to sleep in, or whatever, this morning as others play golf, yesterday's golf.

-I wouldn't mind playing golf this morning - little chilly up here in southern Indiana, frost on the cars, in fact.  Should be nice enough this afternoon though.

-Scramble tomorrow at 10am.  That gives us all enough time to finish up and get down to the Jack Butcher Arena to support the North Daviess Cougars in their run for the regional crown.  They'll tip off against Rock Creek Academy around 12:15.  Go Cougars!
